Where Did My Emails Go?

Short answer: Nowhere.

We never delete your email, so if you're missing messages, you probably just don't know where to look.

When you swipe in Clairify, your messages are labeled and organized — never deleted. Even if somehow we did delete it, it would still be in your deleted folder — we don't (and can't) permanently delete. Erasing mail for good requires a broader Google permission that Clairify never requests.

If a message looks like it "disappeared," this page shows you exactly where to look.

1. We Made New Folders

When you swipe left to discard, Clairify adds the ClairifyTrash label to the message. Swipe right to mark as read applies ClairifyRead in the same way.

To see these messages in your own email client, look for the matching label or folder:

  • Gmail — Open the left sidebar and look for the ClairifyTrash label. You may need to click More to expand the full list.
  • Outlook — Look for the ClairifyTrash folder in your folder list.

2. Don't Look in the iPhone Mail App

Your iPhone Mail app is an email client, just like Clairify. It fetches your mail from Gmail or Outlook and shows you a local copy. Because it's a client, it's subject to a syncing mechanism that is not instant.

Gmail and Outlook reflect your actions in Clairify almost immediately because that's where we are directly connected.

So check Gmail or Outlook (the web or their native apps) to find any emails you can't find in Clairify.

3. Everything You Swiped Lives in the Mailroom

Every message you swipe — left or right — is labeled and sent to the Mailroom channel inside Clairify. It's your complete record of what you triaged, and you can pull any message back up in seconds.

To find an email in the Mailroom:

  1. Tap the Channels button in the bottom navigation.
  2. In the list of channels, open Mailroom.
  3. The Mailroom is filtered by default, so you won't see everything at once.
  4. Tap the Magic Button to reveal the list of filters.
  5. Select the filter that matches what you're looking for.
  6. Find your email in the list.

Tip

If you're not sure which filter to use, cycle through them. The message you're looking for will be under one of them. We can be confident it's there, because again, we don't delete your emails.
